Trust
Book 1 of the Gypsies, Gamblers & Thieves Series
Trust is the first draft of a Young Adult (YA) novel about Reva Dobson, a girl from the Deep South who comes of age in Sin City. Trust was born from several short stories I wrote during my undergraduate study of creative writing. I published the novella on Wattpad to find beta readers and engage socially with the book’s target audience: teenagers. Garnering more than 175,000 views, Trust was featured twice on Wattpad, first by the company itself, and later in a marketing campaign by the millennial-focused TV channel, Pivot.

Weddings rake in about $2 billion a year in Las Vegas, making nuptials among the city’s most lucrative markets. From getting hitched by Elvis to jumping out of an airplane while saying “I do,” there as many ways to tie the knot as there are to spend money in the Entertainment Capital of the World. The most “romantic” part of this assignment was visiting the pioneer-themed Little Church of the West, which was built in 1943, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
