Your Drugs Probably Weren’t Tested on People of Color
This 2000-word article was written for the CEO of a medical startup that used AI technology to help identify potential medical research participants from understudied populations. As a former biomedical research editor, I am skilled at working with complex scientific information and transforming it for both the layperson and peer-reviewed journals.
Putting your brand on the front page: Lessons from Red Bull
This is one of numerous blog posts I created for the author’s platform supporting The Dragonfly Effect. The book was written by Stanford Graduate School of Business professor, Jennifer Aaker, and entrepreneur Andy Smith. “Lessons from Red Bull” discusses the strategy the company used to create its billion-dollar brand. It is the website’s most-viewed piece.
Small Business
Below is an example of a small business website that I overhauled for both form and content. Called Envirokut, this vegetation management company imports heavy machinery and accessories from Europe for use in state departments of transportation across the U.S. When I first met with this client, their website read like someone’s-dad-the-auto-salesman wrote it, because that’s who did. I rewrote all of the copy and built out new and existing pages to better showcase images and video of the machinery’s capabilities. Just as I used Squarespace to build this website, I used it to improve Envirokut’s.

News and lifestyle
As the transition from print to Web became inevitable, early online publishing models paid writers per page view. One example is the Canadian website Suite101.com, where I originally published the articles below in 2008. Paying about enough to buy a box of Cracker Jacks without the peanuts, these general interest websites allowed writers to accrue URL bylines and cover whatever topics they chose. Thanks to Archive.org, these articles still exist.

One of America's most heavily marketed foods—the hamburger—poses a health risk, especially to children. And the meat processing industry shows few signs of cleaning up its act.

Largest Kosher Meat Producer in U.S. is Raided, Workers Detained
The detention of nearly 400 Agriprocessors employees by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) suggests strike-busting more than it does law enforcement.
